Spiritual Connections

Venturing into the unknown

Love is everlasting,
Love is ephemeral.
Love is a paradox,
Love is ethereal.

Love is simple and naked,
Love is refreshingly pure.
Love is an instant attachment,
Love is fleeting allure.

Who are you to me?
Why do you matter?
Attraction or familiarity?
I think it is the latter.

How do I ‘see’ you?
When I barely know you…
Is this a spiritual connection?
Do you feel it too?

What is it about the soul?
That draws one another close.
While the mind deciphers this puzzle
And thinks it is all a hoax.

The heart, it feels the connection,
The head, it wants to debate.
And that leaves us a scapegoat,
In this game of life and fate.

I have all these questions,
Answers are what elude me.
But ‘time’ answers all of them,
So we just have to wait and see.

In the meanwhile, we look forward,
To what life has in store…
To enjoy what we have in the moment,
And try not to lust for more.

And hope the other doesn't turn his back,
In fear of that which he cannot see,
As we are grateful for what we have,
And look forward to what may be…
