Goals

Someone I respect a great deal taught me that setting goals was a pretty important part of the process of getting what you want out of life.

With that in mind, the goals of this blog are simple:

1. Use writing in this space as a forcing function to structure some of our thinking about markets and investing.

2. Socialize that thinking in a way that encourages others to engage by asking questions, pushing back, and holding us accountable.

3. Through that process, increase the rate at which we learn about the world, and in doing so, create value for our investors.

What does that mean in terms of practice? Well, we commit to always saying what we think. Sometimes that will come in the form of questions. Sometimes there will be explorations and low-confidence judgment calls. Sometimes there will be in depth and thorough research we want to push out to the world to stress test.

Along with that process, we are going to make mistakes, and we are going to be wrong, a lot. It’s just the nature of the thing. The hope though, is that through that process, we can both understand better what is true, and what to do about it, with you.
