Skill up on Snowflake with our new Northstar Builder Education Program

If you’re looking to learn how to build on Snowflake, check out Northstar, Snowflake’s new training program designed to meet the needs of builders. Created by our own developer advocates, the coursework is intended to get you started quickly with a heavy emphasis on hands-on exercises and demos. Learn at your own pace with online courses or attend in-person workshops where you can earn a badge for completing coding exercises. And the content is free!

Try our intro to Snowflake course

We just published our first Snowflake course on Coursera: Intro to Snowflake for Devs, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and we’d love for you to try it.

Intro to Snowflake for Devs, Data Scientists, Data Engineers Course on Coursera

The course is intended to give you the basic skills you’ll need to build on Snowflake and is a prerequisite for upcoming courses we’re developing. You’ll learn about Snowflake’s architecture, the core objects, and the key features for builders. You’ll also get an overview of the Snowflake builder workloads that will prepare you for additional coursework along the 3 learning paths we’re developing: data engineering, gen AI & ML, and application development (see figure below). The course content is free, and you’ll have the option to purchase a Coursera certificate of completion for a nominal fee that you can display on your social profiles and Linkedin.

Attend a workshop, earn a badge

While our online courses will typically include multiple modules and hands-on exercises and require more time to complete, our workshops typically focus on specific topics and a lab exercise supported by one of our quickstarts. We’re currently offering workshops in data engineering, applications and gen AI & ML. Find an event near you and earn the respective workshop’s badge!

We’re really excited about Northstar and we hope you’ll give it a try. We’re busy developing additional courses, so it’d be great for you to complete our first course now so you’ll be ready to complete the follow-on courses when we publish them later this year.

We can’t wait to see what you build!
