As week 8 draws to a close we prepare for week 9 which will see many exciting new developments.
Reflecting on week 8, we saw:
- 🎅 5,600 SNOW tokens ❄️❄️ ️️distributed to liquidity providers — a number that will be reduced to 4,200 for weeks 9–10. More information on our distribution schedule can be found here.
- ☃️ Snowswap’s first-ever AMA with lead developer Snow King. We had a ton of great questions from our community members and gave away some free snow in the process. We look forward to doing more of these in the future and bringing you perspectives from different team members. Snow King shared a lot of great information about the project and gave a sneak peek of some things we might see moving forward.
- ❄️ Quantstamp completed a security review of the Snowswap protocol and they will share the results shortly. We have shared our deck to decide the best way to move forward including exploring a monthly retainer. SnowSwap will have to pay out of pocket for most of this review as our tokens don’t cover the cost of the review.
- 🎅 The devs have been working diligently to bring wrapped Bitcoin swaps to the Snow community. This new pool will allow anyone to swap between Harvest Finance’s fcrvrenBTC to Yearn Finance’s ycrvsBTC and back. We look forward to adding more pools and tokens as Bitcoin continues it’s bull run in 2021. All week the devs have been building and testing the swap pool and staking pool for btcSnow LP token, as well as improving and updating the user interface on our staking page.
As we look forward to week 9, we have some exciting events planned!
- ☃️ On Monday (12/7) we will be launching our first pool for wrapped Bitcoin swaps. As previously mentioned, this pool will support both Harvest’s and Yearn’s Bitcoin wrapped tokens and we will launch a staking pool for the LP token — btcSnow as well.
- ❄️️ We also (fingers crossed) hope to bring you the results of our Quantstamp audit, so that all our users can sleep soundly at night. We realize that with all the recent attacks safety is at the forefront of everyone’s mind, which is why we pulled out all the stops to get this audit done as quickly as possible.
