To quote Jerry Falwell, Jr., who introduced Donald Trump at Liberty University:

“Matthew 7:16: By their fruits, you shall know them.”

I wholly agree. And by his fruits you can plainly see who he is.

  • He has been divorced twice. [Link]
  • He has said of Rosie O’donnell, “[She] is disgusting, both inside and out. She’s a slob….” Which is a completely disrespectful way to speak of anyone, regardless of whether you like them or not. [Link]
  • When asked if he regrets the his remark that he has never asked God for forgiveness, he says, “No, I have great relationship with God,” and then goes on to discuss his poll numbers with evangelicals. [Link]

This, all without his botching of “Two [sic] Corinthians 3:17,” [Link] while claiming the Bible as his favorite book, should be enough to convince any evangelical who is considering voting for him that they would not be voting for someone who is a follower of Christ. If they’re ok with making that vote, that’s fine. It’s their decision, and the man introducing Trump said that he’s voting for the leader of the country, not for a pastor.

Now, I have no intimate knowledge of Donald Trump’s personal life, but if we’re judging people by their fruits, it seems like a stretch to argue that voting for Donald Trump is voting for a Christian.
