I remember when a photograph was worth
A thousand words, a thousand words

Those are the first words to Relient K’s latest song, Look On Up. It’s a beautiful, thought provoking song. We now have a world that’s posting billions of photos every day. Now that’s not in and of itself a bad thing, but the song comes in to remind us to take a step away from our viewfinder and enjoy the beauty surrounding us for what it is.

Maybe today, a photograph isn’t always worth a thousand words. But standing still and looking up at the moon, will provide us with memories that are worth more than the pictures we take.

Have you ever tried to photograph the moon? … I find it funny how it never turns out right.

So, maybe, let’s put down our phone, look up at the moon, and look around at the wonderful friends we surround ourselves with, or enjoy the peaceful solemness of a quiet world around us.

Look on up.
