Introducing the Soar Test Net Demo

Hi - I’m Chris and I’m the Lead Developer of Soar.

Soar gives drone operators a fair and transparent platform to monetise their content with the ultimate goal of building an unprecedented super-map of the world.

The development team is delighted to announce that the demo Soar platform is now available on the Test Net for you to explore. You can even upload your own drone image masterpieces.

The Test Net provides an opportunity for the development team to surface and address a lot of the technical challenges underpinning the Soar platform, such as using the blockchain as a mapping technology, and systematically reading information directly from drone images to accurately geolocate the content.

If you have a drone, we would love to see the spectacular images you have taken. Head over to the Upload button on the Navigation bar and follow the interactive tutorial.

Do not stress if you have no idea about the blockchain, the tutorial will guide you through the steps and you’ll be a crypto-wizard in a matter of minutes. Just be aware that this is the Test Net, and it deals in “pretend” tokens until the official launch.

The Test Net demo has a number of nifty features I’d love to show off….

• Search
  Typing something in the Search bar to highlight similar images. Try typing a location or a place name.

• Map Types
  The layers control at the top right lets you swap between different map types and also has a heat-map of the drone hotspots. The heat-map shows the concentration of drone imagery by location.

• Browse
  The ‘Browse’ button in the Navigation bar will take you to a quick preview of all the images on the Test Net.

• Image Details
  Click on a card to see the full information such as details about the drone, camera, geoHash and multiple blockchain hashes relating to the smart contract payload.
