Soar is pleased to announce it has partnered with Aeris Weather — a leading global weather information platform for businesses. This partnership delivers live Aeris Weather updates to Soar’s Test net. The Aeris Weather feature on the Test net means that users can now view rain radar, cloud coverage, temperature, wind speed, barometric pressure and storm forecasts overlays. The addition of weather data adds an extra dimension of intelligence to the already impressive array of live satellite feeds.

Aeris Weather creates custom solutions for weather-sensitive businesses and media properties. The Aeris data is not only flexible and easy to use, but also offers a wide variety of visualizations to tell the weather story. Applications like Aeris Weather are extremely important today as weather impacts roughly one-third of GDP, and it is becoming more volatile.

The inclusion of Aeris Weather feeds on the Soar platform means Soar is on target to becoming a true global Super-map, that isn’t only about static imagery — it can now provide a live feed of global weather conditions as they occur. These features will also enable drone operators to check the weather conditions during flight planning to ensure safe operation.

“Soar is a very dynamic system, it changes everyday, and so does weather. This is why weather data is so important, not only just in the context of mapping and applications to our everyday lives, but also because its sits in to the greater theme of a dynamic data set that is ever changing.” said Soar CEO, Amir Farhand. “Aeris Weather has global coverage which is important as we are building a global Super-map, a strategy that mirrors our own strategy for growth. What Aeris weather is trying to do for the weather market is like what Soar is trying to do for aerial, drone and satellite mapping”
