First of all we want to welcome everyone into the new year and hope everyone enjoyed the holiday period. We are all getting back into the swing of things here at Soar and have a lot in store for 2019.

What’s been happening at Soar HQ;

Soar’s TGE

Soar’s TGE finished on the 19th of December — so thank you to everyone who participated. We are in the progress of both getting listed and getting SKYM tokens distributed, so stay tuned for further updates.
Alongside the TGE, Soar’s Test net experienced strong growth in 2018 and we are pleased to release our figures. The platform currently contains over 2,200 drone images with 3,294 users downloading this content including over 1,400 satellite maps.

New model: SkyStaking

The Soar team are very excited to release the SkyStaking litepaper. ‘SkyStaking’ takes ideas from traditional stock market incentivisation (dividends) and applies them to the new era of decentralised applications. Governed by smart contracts, SkyStaking is more efficient, transparent and quicker than traditional dividend models.

Overview of SkyStaking;
SkyStaking is an addition to the Soar token framework that allows hodlers of the SkyStaking Security Token (SKYS) to stake locations anywhere the world using the Soar Super-map. A ‘stake’ is an area defined by the user on the Soar Super-map which will generate revenue for the stakeholder based on the value created on Soar within the area of their stake. While SkyStaking does not guarantee a return on investment, it does guarantee a share of the profits generated by the Soar platform. Additionally, it takes the fulcrum of the geospatial concept laid out by the Soar platform and applies them to SkyStaking. The SkyStaking model opens up a new speculation market on the value of different locations across the world, and effectively creates a new asset class.

Partnerships

Soar also attained many significant partnerships in 2018 with companies such as Aeris Weather, CyberMiles, ArcBlock, Sinergise, Atmosoar, and many more. You can see more of our partnership announcements here.

Competitions

Over the Christmas break, Soar had a holiday giveaway prize which consisted of 2 x DJI Tello drone packs which was drawn at Christmas.
We also finished the most recent bounty program with the prize being a brand new DJI Spark! Please refer to our Facebook or Telegram for the competition details.
Thank you to everyone who participated — we have plenty more competitions in store for you all.

We want to also thank our community again for supporting and believing in Soar, and we are looking forward to an incredible 2019!
