San Jose Earthquakes start season strong
Over the weekend the San Jose Earthquakes defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 3–2 in a match that forced San Jose into a corner as they were behind 0–2 in the first 20 minutes of the game. Vancouver took advantage of a sloppy defense. Both goals were scored in slow motion as the Earthquake defenders failed to attack and clear the ball successfully. Luckily all this happened early in the first half as the Earthquakes started their assault from the 21st minute and never looked back. Wondo led the charge as he scored before the first half came to an end and gave hope to the team. Then came Nick Lima’s goal to level that in my opinion was the best. It was a goal that came from an impressive build up of movement and passes. Godoy gave San Jose their only lead in the game which was enough to seal the victory.
Four days later, as the emotional high is in the past now, San Jose Earthquakes should be working on preparing for their first away match against Sporting Kansas City.
