*A few curated resources in English on Social and Behaviour Change (SBC). These resources complement our “Intro Guide to Social and Behaviour Change.” For versions in French, Portuguese and Spanish click here.

  1. Adaptable Pocket Guide on Gamification. UNICEF West and Central Africa Region. See this Social Change Library for additional adaptable resources in multiple languages.
  2. Coursera online Course on Gamification. University of Pennsylvania — This (gamified!) free online course has been taken by more than 100,000 participants. Tools and frameworks are presented for different scenarios and contexts, along with real world examples.
  3. The ultimate step-by-step guide to understanding gamification. Gamelearn Team — A 12-page article by the team in charge of the most awarded game-based learning platform globally. It introduces gamification along with eleven key techniques.
  4. The role of incentives in the distribution of public goods in Zambia. This 4-page summary of a research paper from The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) shows the impact of a “gamified” intervention in Zambia. Key takeaway: Gamification can be as an alternative to financial incentives. (See the full article here)
