Navigating the world with social anxiety is challenging enough, but when you add neurodivergence to the mix, the journey can feel even more complex. As a Social Anxiety Coach and Hypnotherapist, I’ve encountered many misconceptions and stereotypes surrounding neurodivergence and social anxiety. It’s time we debunk these myths and promote a more nuanced understanding and acceptance of these intertwined experiences.

Myth #1: Neurodivergent Individuals Are Just “Shy”

One of the most common misconceptions I’ve encountered is equating neurodivergence with shyness. While it’s true that some neurodivergent individuals may exhibit shy or introverted traits, it’s essential to recognize that neurodivergence encompasses a wide range of conditions, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more.
