From September 10–12, 2023, the world of blockchain and smart contracts witnessed an electrifying event at the National Gallery Singapore. The annual Web 3.0 Hackathon became the stage for showcasing not only the immense potential of Ethereum Blockchain but also for uniting the brightest minds within the blockchain industry. With the presence of none other than Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum’s co-founder, and unwavering support from various Ethereum-based blockchain projects, this event became extraordinary.

The Hackathon welcomed over 40 teams, and among them was the ingenious Social Bureau project, representing Thailand. The challenge was clear — create a Dapp (decentralized application) from the ground up. This arduous journey encompassed brainstorming, problem-solving, selecting smart contracts, crafting ecosystems, and designing user-friendly interfaces. The competition was fierce, and the teams left no stone unturned, working tirelessly day and night.

However, it was in this backdrop of formidable competition that the star of the show emerged — Social Bureau. The project clinched the highly prestigious Best Dapp Award, an honor presented by Taiko Blockchain, a decentralized Ethereum-equivalent ZK-Rollup blockchain.

But what makes the Social Bureau project truly stand out? At its core, it’s an innovative platform dedicated to assessing the trustworthiness of individuals and entities through blockchain technology and a Web 3.0 approach. It comprehensively evaluates various elements such as bank account numbers, websites, emails, I.P. addresses, and more, drawing from global crime reports. What sets it apart is its distinctive community-driven approach. Members actively verify data accuracy and uphold integrity through a proof-of-stake mechanism, creating a comprehensive, up-to-date, accurate, and transparent crime database. This database is invaluable in assessing business risks, but it goes a step further by empowering crime victims to offer rewards for identifying criminals and recovering stolen assets.

Social Bureau not only achieved remarkable recognition but also garnered the attention of the event committee, business partners, and the Singaporean media. With its vision to revolutionize the justice system, Social Bureau is well on its way to making a significant impact.

In a unique twist, all participating teams were allowed to submit their projects to multiple sponsors. However, Social Bureau made a deliberate choice to focus exclusively on Taiko Blockchain. Despite not submitting their project to any other blockchain, they emerged victorious. This strategic choice emphasizes the commitment and belief in the capabilities of Taiko Blockchain.

As we eagerly anticipate its official launch, stay tuned for more exciting updates and developments. Social Bureau is on a mission to reshape the way we think about justice and safety, and it’s a journey you won’t want to miss!
