We all must have heard this famous saying:

If you want to destroy any nation without war, make adultery or nudity common in the young generation.

Many of us haven’t even ever considered it as an important issue. Westernisation has been adapted by our young generation and they flaunt it with pride. Our Prophets had gone through heaps of trouble to teach us the true meanings of Islam. But what are we doing as a muslim? We call ourselves muslims but we can’t call us Momin (a complete and faithful muslim). You know why? Because we don’t pay much attention to these things. We are so occupied chasing the latest trends/fashion that we’ve forgotten our identity. We’re supposed to follow the paths of Prophets and their teachings, and what Allah has mentioned in the Holy Quran. What we have in mind that we’re so young, we don’t have to follow the religion yet. We have so much time, we can do that when we get senile. Let me give you a reality check, we can return to Allah anytime. Right when we’re doing what we’re not supposed to do. We might not get a chance to repent to Allah for our deeds.

“All human beings are sinners; the best of the sinners are those who repent.” (Ibn Majah, Zuhd, 30)

“If you were not to commit sins, Allah would sweep you out of existence and would replace you by other people who would commit sins, and then would ask forgiveness from Allah.” (Muslim, Tawbah, 9, 10, 11)

As of today, there are many who love to attract attention by wearing inappropriate clothes. They don’t even realise their mistakes and what they’re doing is utterly shameful. Wearing tight clothes or exposing skin would definitely attract attention in this world and would make us stand out among others but believe me in Aakhira(Day of judgement) we’ll be miserable. By doing that, we’re merely exposing ourselves to the wrath of our Lord. In regards to this, our Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make others incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas it odour would be smelt from such and such distance (from great distance)”

Sahih Muslim Hadith 6840 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

Do you think it is worth it? Is the effort women do to look beautiful for others more appealing than Allah’s rewards? They should fear Him and know that modesty is the best jewel of women which is part of their faith. In the above Hadith, it is clearly mentioned that women who seduce or incline others towards obscenity and lewdness by wearing tight or short clothes would die in this state will not only be able to enter the Paradise but she won’t even smell the sweet fragrance of it. Ya Allah!

Dear sisters, this world is temporary. Come out of your dreamy bubble before it’s too late. Trust me, it’s not worth it. Don’t get pursued by men for the wrong reasons, if you do that, in most cases they’re only going to use you to satisfy their lust. Don’t get played by the bad ones.

Moreover, men should avoid staring at anyone other than their wife(s). Ogling at women would do you no good. You have to understand this that there is no excuse of surroundings being lewd. No matter how this world lures you towards evil, you must know that Allah is watching and you have got to refrain from looking at forbidden or haram things regardless of what the circumstances are. You just can’t justify your act by giving invalid alibi that there are lots of temptations around. Everyone is responsible for their deeds, blaming women wouldn’t make you pious. You’re equally guilty and will be answerable for your wrongdoings. Allah has clearly stated in the Holy Quran to not let your gaze wander freely because it would only incline you to do evil.

“Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things)”

[al-Noor 24:30]

Dear brothers, bragging to your friends how you’ve fooled some girl or how she got tricked by you would only make your friends venerate you, and admiring women and telling your friends about them or disclosing their privacy or sharing pictures of them are making you nothing but a sinner in front of Allah. For Allah’s sake, stop it. Allah will not forgive a person who sins openly and brag to friends about it whilst Allah has concealed it.

ALLAH says: “If you avoid the great sins which you are forbidden to do, We shall expiate from you your (small) sins, and admit you to a Noble Entrance (i.e. Paradise)” [al-Nisaa’ 4:31]

Allah says in the Holy Quran:

“Do not even go near zina (fornication or adultery) for it is a very indecent thing and a very evil way!” Chapter 17 Surah Israa verse 32

“The woman and the man guilty of zina (fornication) flog each of them with a hundred stripes: let not compassion move you in their case in a matter prescribed by Allah if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the believers witness their punishment.” Chapter 24 Surah Noor verse 2

Last but not the least, our environment has been completely corrupted but one shouldn’t forget the teachings of our Prophets and what Allah has said in the Holy Quran. As zina is very common nowadays. Sadly, this generation is very much involved in it. Do not invoke the curse of Allah on yourself. It’s considered one of the greatest sins in Islam. If you know the punishment, you would never go near it no matter how great the temptation is. If a married person commits zina, the punishment is stoning to death, and if an unmarried person commits it, the punishment is one hundred lashes. It’s a very hated sin in the Sight of Allah. Please, advise your relatives, friends not to wear inappropriate clothes which have been forbidden in our religion. Sisters, you’re only inclining others towards you and this is a great sin. Ward off shaytan whispers before he take hold of you. Brothers, lowering your gaze after the first glance will save you from great sins. Zina of the eye is the root of every evil. If you keep on looking at haram things and women, you can’t be certain that the Shaytan hasn’t violated your soul.

Times have changed but the words of our Lord are the same.

In becoming modern we should not forget our values, this world is temporary. Remember this, the End is near.
