This summer, Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA) and west coast startup, Brightly, are linking arms in an effort to bring even more selling opportunities to businesses doing good.

Brightly is the newest addition to SEA’s Marketplace Partner initiative, a program created to shine a spotlight on social enterprises and connect conscious consumers to quality social impact products.

For members of SEA, this partnership provides another chance to tap into new audiences, sell more product and funnel that profit back into social initiatives like employing survivors of human trafficking, providing job skills to those with disabilities and reducing plastic waste. For consumers who care, it provides an even wider variety of ethical products to choose from, making it easy to support those social initiatives while shopping for essentials.

Brightly is a new platform that combines social commerce, community, and content to ignite change. Its curated marketplace features thousands of sustainable products from ethical brands, connects eco-conscious consumers to one another and inspires action via ethical lifestyle content.

Drawing on co-founder Laura’s experience working with Google and Amazon, the marketplace…provides a user-friendly layout and a high-quality aesthetic.

Focusing on building a worldwide community of change-makers, Brightly aims to become both the on-and-offline destination for finding goods that give back and the socially conscious social club. In a world where small decisions can add up to a large impact, shopping for products that benefit artisans around the world or attending a local event like a clothes swap are powerful actions that you can take and inspire others to do so.

What makes Brightly so innovative in the ethical market space is its foundation in the tech world. Drawing on co-founder Laura’s past experience working with Google and Amazon and co-founder Liza’s experience in marketing and launching her own social enterprise, the marketplace mixes innovative technologies and careful curation to provide a user-friendly layout and a high-quality aesthetic.

The site features a wide expanse of quality products like home decor, art, ceramics, women’s clothes, shoes and jewelry. For those who want to focus on impact first while shopping, users can browse the “Shop Your Values” section for lists of products that are vegan, empower women, help provide clean water and more.

…our vision at SEA is to see social enterprise take the mainstream market by storm and meet the demands of the current consumer landscape

With more ethical options to choose from and increased knowledge about the impact of each product, Brightly is creating a compelling place for consumers to spend their dollars on positive social change in lieu of mainstream alternatives.

Similarly to Brightly, SEA is excited to see social enterprise take the mainstream market by storm and meet the demands of the current consumer landscape; one that values companies with a social mission. We are excited to welcome Brightly into the SEA community and embark on this partnership, giving social enterprises market opportunities that enable them to continue creating lasting change.
