The Decentralist: Author Pens “Moral Mirror” for Crypto Movement
AUSTIN. Author Max Borders has launched his new book, The Decentralist. The book, published by Social Evolution, offers a comprehensive philosophy Borders refers to as “Decentralism.”
“Too many of us are putting up with authoritarians on the left and right,” says Borders. “On the other hand, too many bad actors are lurking in crypto for us to be an effective check on power.”
Borders says the book is an antidote to authoritarians and scammers alike.
“It’s time for people of conscience to organize around principles that include mission, morality, and a sense of life meaning. If we’re going to win in the long run, we have to unite, grow our ranks, and seize the high ground.”
Borders’s first book, The Social Singularity, was concerned with developing alternative governance systems and lateralizing human relationships. Borders says The Decentralist is a “moral mirror” to The Social Singularity and the broader decentralization movement, which starts with a commitment to the promise of the ‘consent of the governed.’
“Politics selects for sociopaths,”says Borders. “But if we’re going to underthrow them, we have to be our best selves.”
“The best way to reduce sociopathy is to have more people rally around an ethos, a secular religion that calls you to be better, work towards a goal, and collaborate with other good people to build new societies.”
