A sonnet

It’s the last day of two thousand twenty,
And what a year of years that it has been.
Pandemic and politics aplenty,
Though things are getting better, who knows when.

The earth tomorrow, just one day older,
Four-point six billion times around the sun.
Tonight the Sun dies, the Moon consoles her,
The silly people don’t know…
