Me and the Pear Tree’s Shadow

A sonnet

Two shadows fall on winter’s wooden fence,
The first is mine, and next the sleeping pear.
The tree is bare of leaves, there’s no suspense,
There won’t be any fruit, I sure don’t care.

My shadow is a nondescript blank shape,
I hardly know who’s visage it evokes.
