Facebook Job Postings

Business pages on Facebook have access to a special type of asset called a Job Posting. Job Postings have set criteria that businesses can fill out to aid them in their hiring efforts.

When you initially create a Job Posting, you’ll get access to set fields that will help job-seekers find you and apply. Here is a screenshot of what a Job Posting looks like before we fill the fields in.

The fundamental difference between Job Postings on Facebook and normal posts is where they show up when a user is on FB. Normal posts will show up in a user’s feed. Job Postings live in a separate area of Facebook called “Jobs” which distinguishes them from normal posts and is more easily searchable for job candidates.

When a user goes to the Jobs section on Facebook, they’ll see local results based on places they’ve interacted and other background factors like location. Users can also set Job Alerts for themselves based on companies they are interested in. You can think of the Facebook Jobs section like a digital job board.

Once you set your Job Posting live, users can apply directly through Facebook with their resume or other qualifications. Facebook holds those applications in a section on your Business page so that you can easily review all candidates and see if they are a good fit for your business. At that point, you’re able to either close the Job Posting if you found someone, or renew it if you need more applications.

The best part about this Facebook tool is that it’s completely free if you have access to your Business Page! You can create multiple Job Postings if there are many openings in your company and have all the applications stored neatly in one place.
