You’re probably wondering what a landing page is. Unbounce.com defines it as a standalone web page designed for marketing purposes. If you’ve never considered using a landing page in the past, I’ll be sharing some pointers on why you should consider using one in the future. Here are five reasons why you need a landing page:

1. You don’t have a website

Gasp*

Please get a website! Word of mouth might have worked well for you in the past, but the new generation of buyers needs to see your website. While you’re waiting on your website to get built (please, please, please get a website), you can deploy a landing page. This way you have a place to drive traffic. At Optimize Social Media we have proven strategies to help you gain traction on your social media platforms. An additional benefit of increasing your brand awareness is that we also have the ability to drive traffic to landing pages.

2. You Control the Traffic

Landing pages are typically hidden from the visible portion of websites. Nine times out of 10 you won’t see a landing page link on a sidebar or menu drop down bar. You’re probably wondering how anyone can reach the landing page if there aren’t links available for it on your website. Landing pages are typically reached by strategically placed links in e-mail blasts, ads or content. The reasoning behind this is if someone has reached this point in the buying process (i.e. receiving your emails, clicking your ads, or subscribing to your content), they have established themselves as warm leads in your sales funnel. This potential customer is an ideal candidate to send to your landing page.

3. You Measure the Traffic

After you start driving traffic to your landing page you now have another awesome tool at your grasp — measurement. You can measure exactly how many people are reaching your page. You’ll have access to raw data. This is useful for tracking the amount of monthly, weekly or even daily traffic sent to your landing page. Now you can set goals and know what to expect on month-to-month basis.

4. New Customers

Landing pages provide you with valuable insights about your traffic. You can use this information to target new customers by refining your content strategy and using targeted ads on Facebook. You want new customers right? By creating a landing page you are being proactive on reaching your target customer and making it easier for them to find you. Landing pages help bridge the gap between warm leads and loyal customers.

5. Central Location for Your Business Info

A landing page is a great place to store valuable information about your business. You can post store hours, promos, contact forms, appointment forms and maps that show how to get to your location. You can also embed social media links for people to easily access your social platforms. Landing pages also have menus where you can list your products and services.

These are just a few of the many reasons why you should consider creating a landing page. If any one of these reasons resonates with you, please speak to your social media manager and ask them about our landing page packages. We are fully integrating these into our new ad packages and are excited to help our clients continue to achieve their goals through social media!
