It is never enough

Why people were not happy to just have a Lookback

At the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014 Statigram released a way for Instagrammers to show a quick 15 second recap of their year. And it was wonderful. (At least I thought it was)

But as all things go, it is never enough and must be improved/elaborated on. Apps came out that allowed people to make their own reviews of different things. Flipagram sticks out in my mind as a prime example of this. And once again, the people rejoiced.

And then Facebook turned 10.

Facebook turned 10 and they figured this would be a great time to over a way for users to have a quick review of their Timeline. They came up with Lookback. It pulled some of the most popular posts, popular images, early posts, and topped it off with some random photos.

It was like a little thank you to the people that have been with Facebook for a while. But now this wasn’t enough. It had been done already.

So now Facebook users can edit their Lookback video. Choosing the photos and posts they want. And the people rejoiced!

All in all, this progression is natural and to be expected. Let this be a lesson to apps and social networks. The bar has been set and must be raised, it is never enough.

Yes, I do plan on editing my Lookback. Why not.

Sidenote: I am interested into what will be the next progression in this feature’s progression.
