Wonderful recap of a wonderful report! All of this is such great information, and a couple of ideas in particular resonated with some of the experience we’ve seen.

re: #1 — Designing an experience for a mobile visitor is a really fascinating challenge. It’s one that could seem quite intuitive, i.e. we understand that people use mobile devices all the time to consume information. And yet, the challenge might lie in the fact that we’d be designing mobile experiences from a laptop. We’ve seen this personally for our work at Buffer where we’ll be designing blog posts or social media updates that look good on our laptop screen, without checking how it feels for mobile. It’s almost as if you need a mobile device beside you at all times! (Or a responsive browser extension) ☺

re: #3 — Messaging apps have been a neat medium for us to monitor as we’ve noticed that content sharing happens in many places beyond traditional social. One in particular that comes to mind is Slack where there seeems to be a lot of cool links being passed back and forth among colleagues. Definitely agree with Mary and Joshua here on the emergence of messaging apps and their impact on dark social.
