Cause-focused social media and digital agency becomes 10th brand in The Brewery Group, parent company of global communications agency freuds

The specialist and highly regarded social media and digital agency Social Misfits Media has become the tenth brand in The Brewery Group, the parent company of global communications agency freuds.

Founded by social entrepreneur and CEO Carlos Miranda in 2012, Social Misfits Media has an impressive track record of helping NGOs, charities and foundations find their voice and have a positive societal impact, building on its mission of turning “social media into social good”. Clients in its global portfolio include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Amnesty International and Lumos.

The announcement of the joint venture is the latest milestone in the group’s commitment to sustainability, most notably through freuds, the global communications agency founded by Chairman Matthew Freud in 1985 and the biggest brand within the group.

freuds has been driven by a commitment to social and environmental impact since its inception and has worked on some of the biggest campaigns and initiatives in that space, including Band Aid, Live Aid, Live Earth & Live 8, and more recently the UN Sustainable Development Goals AKA the Global Goals, Product (RED), Great British Oceans, and Mission 2020.

Social Misfits Media becoming part of The Brewery will allow the group to continue to help businesses, brands and NGOs communicate about social impact issues — often related to the Global Goals.
