Katie McLeish and Dave Williams

Sadly tomorrow SVA will bid farewell to Executive Director Katie McLeish, who heads up our Partnerships team.

The Partnerships team is SVA’s fundraising department and it’s critical to the delivery of SVA’s business plan. Indeed, philanthropic donations account for nearly half of SVA’s annual revenue.

When generous supporters donate to SVA they are supporting the work of the organisation and we are lucky to have many strong relationships, made possible through a mutual commitment to a common goal.

Led by Katie, our Partnerships team passionately represent SVA’s work to the outside world, creating alliances to fund projects designed to alleviate many forms of disadvantage experienced across Australia.

Excellent governance, systems and processes are also critical to successful fundraising, and Katie has contributed her considerable fundraising experience to strengthen our approach in all of these areas.

Though we’re sad to see Katie go, we’re looking forward to seeing what she achieves in the future.

Dave Williams, Executive Director of Ventures, will step in to oversee the Partnerships team, drawing on considerable fundraising experience he gained while working for a number of overseas not-for-profit organisations. Ali Barry, Director, Partnerships will lead the day-to-day operation of the team while we seek a permanent replacement.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Katie for her stellar leadership of the Partnerships team, and her wider contributions to SVA as part of the SVA Leadership Team.
