Something inspiring

‘The Final Quarter’ is propelling discussions around the treatment of First Australians onto a national platform.

Though it’s a challenging and emotional watch, it nevertheless left me feeling hopeful for the future. Screening the documentary on prime-time TV starts a much-needed and long overdue conversation to help people understand the ongoing racial abuse that First Australian people experience.

Combined with the increased participation and visibility of recent NAIDOC week celebrations, and a significant rise in Victorian students studying Aboriginal languages, I hope we’re seeing a positive shift in public sentiment around our Indigenous history, culture, and peoples.
