It is finally here. I’ve avoided talking about politics as much as possible in these because I wanted to keep them focused on Social/Content updates. However, today I feel it is important that everyone go out and make their voice heard. Now that we have that out of the way, on to the good stuff!
Trending
- Voting Polls: Where/How to vote. (Source: Google)
- Mannequin Challenge: If you haven’t seen this challenge you have not been on social media in the past couple of days. This is one trend that I actually love…unlike that “planking” thing that was a hit way back when. (Source: NY Times)
- SEGA Genesis: The console is apparently so popular in Brazil that SEGA has had to start production of the system again. (Source: The Daily Dot)
Social/Content
- Shopping on Instagram: Finally! Window shoppers of Instagram rejoice. Now instead of having to go to a link in a profile, users will be able to shop directly via images on the platform. (Source: Econsultancy)
- Snapchat Copies Instagram: You read it right. It was only a matter of time (and is in no way the last) before this happened. Users can now rewind Snaps they’ve watched by clicking the left side of the screen (just how you can on Instagram Stories). (Source: The Verge)
- Gmail Revamp: Google has updated their iOS app and it is awesome! The update includes a cleaner UX as well as the option to “undo send” along with a more features. (Source: PC Mag)
- WhatsApp Testing “Status”: WhatsApp is testing a feature that is somewhat similar to Snapchat. Users will see a new tab between their chats and calls that allows for them to share photos/videos with their contacts. Users can even scribble, add text, and emojis to their images. While devices need to be rooted/jailbroken to access the beta, if it is successful we can be sure it will roll out publicly. (Source: Digital Trends)
