The thing Alexis Bergan-Guzman loves most about her work as a chiropractor and massage therapist is the way it lets her connect to people.

“I love immediately interacting with people on a very one-to-one level,” Alexis says.

Lots of practitioners offer either chiropractic care or massage therapy. Alexis, though, takes a more comprehensive approach — she provides spa-type massage therapy as well as chiropractic adjustments. She loves that so many of her clients come back again and again, for years and years.

“It is about community building and extended friends and family,” Alexis says. “These are long term working relationships that are established.”

Alexis is relatively new to Chattanooga. She first fell in love with the city when she visited on a road trip several years ago. And last year, she finally moved here from South Florida. One of her favorite things about Chattanooga is its focus on the arts. She actually has a degree in painting, and used to work as a medical illustrator before she went into bodywork.

Alexis is hoping to build a strong client base in Chattanooga, and she thinks that Society of Work is the perfect place to do it.

“I like the concept of different types of people working together, there’s something that seems innovative about the concept.”
