Apple is at it again…
In case Apple hasn’t taken over your entire life yet, here are a few more ways they are trying.
Apple News+
For $10 a month, you can get digital access to some of your favorite magazines and newspapers — you’ll find over 300 to ‘flip’ through. You can expect some extras like ‘live’ covers, stories formatted to your phone, and recommendations based on your interests and past views. And the whole family is covered under the same subscription, wahoo!
Apple TV
Combine all of your streaming subscriptions, cable channels, and add-ons onto one interface. New to Apple TV is Apple TV Channels which will let you add some of your favs like HBO, Showtime, MTV, and of course, Apple’s newest baby, their exclusive content. You will also see an Apple TV app available for smart TVS, Amazon Fire, and Roku.
Apple TV+
Like others subscriptions services before them, Apple TV+ will feature Apple’s own original content. Big names like Oprah, Steve Carell, Jennifer Aniston, and Steven Spielberg — to name a few — have signed on to be a part of Apple’s original content.
Apple Arcade
Let’s just piggy back on these subscriptions services and add another, shall we? Now you can subscribe and get access to over 100 new exclusive games. You’ll be able to play games across multiple Apple devices and offline. You can even pause on one device and finish on the other.
Apple Card
And now that Apple is going to be even more in your life, there’s a new way to pay for all of their new services. Apple revealed their own credit card, backed by Goldman Sachs, that eliminates late fees, annual fees, and international fees. It also includes some rewards and cash back features. In true Apple fashion, no need for a tangible card (although you can get a sleek titanium version) as it will be used through your iPhone/Apply Pay. And if you need any help, customer support is there for you through iMessage.
If it sounds like Apple is trying even more ways to get you coming back, they are! Not only are you likely to already own one of their products, now there are multiple monthly subscriptions you can add-on to that. Even though I personally hate the idea of yet another subscription based service, I already see myself trying to decide which one to sign up for.
Since Apple will inevitably be more a part of my life and yours, wouldn’t it be great if they expanded just a bit with some of these new services and products? What if they added an educational aspect to them all? How rad would it be if Apple News+ also had text books? Instead of having to spend a small fortune on text books every semester, we could just subscribe to Apple News+ and get access to them.
Let’s take it a step further; how about on Apple TV+ they combine forces with teaching sites like CreativeLive, Udemy, or Coursera. We could learn something as short as This is the Best Way to Dice an Onion to something more time involved like Excel to MySQL: Analytic Techniques for Business Specialization.
We could even play educational games on Apple Arcade! Heck, we might not even know we are learning. And since Apple has already dipped their toes in the credit world, maybe they can come up with Apple Tuition! You know the ol’ saying, an Apple a day keeps the students at bay — -oh wait, is that not how it goes?
