Leap Motion, What It Is and What If…
One day, I was researching what to print for a 3d model for one of my classes. I ended up looking at many things, but I came up with this topic called Vr headsets, to see what I could create for my Vr (Virtual Reality). As I was scrolling through all these things I came across something that was unusual, it was called Leap Motion holder. I soon became interested and searched it up on the internet. To what I have found out, Leap Motion is a controller in a way but with your hands. On the Leap Motion website, it is said that the controller has a sensor that is able to detect your hands. Which then you can use your hands like a controller. Now from what I have learned or based on my assumption. It can not be used for everything. Meaning if you want to play videos on the Vr, or on a computer it is not very smooth, and actually tough to learn. Because of all the commands, you will have to do with your hands. This controller will basically end up exactly like sign language if you end up doing things correctly.
Now in the future, I see many things happening with this device, as I do not know how long this device has been out or exactly everything it has created. I would love to see this device become even better, as it currently can detect hands. What if it can detect a phone, or be able to take a picture of a drawing you have created, and then in a program. It will create that drawing into a 3d drawing/sculpture within a program. Now in order to do this, you would have to hover the object over this controller/sensor, until it is fully complete. There are definitely many things you could do with this type of technology, and as humans, we can create these things.
