Real Time Technology is technology that adapts to situations in real time, or can be used to achieve a certain function in real time. While not explicitly being one piece of technology, it has been in the works for some time with multiple products. For this post I will be looking at the Google Pixel Buds.

When they were announced, the Pixel Buds were described as a way to play music without needing to pull out your phone, so it would be using Bluetooth connections. If you had them paired to your Google Pixel 2, the Pixel Buds would be able to play music, send a text, or give you walking directions all with “the touch of a button.” ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U_FJWIgQzg) They were able to do this by getting the Pixel Buds to connect with Google Assistant when it connects to the Pixel 2.

What this could mean for the future!

With this kind of technology becoming available, we can reach a point where you wont even have to press buttons to get things to happen. Eventually you will just think and then your Google search is complete, your photo is taken, or your music begins to play. This is the kind of innovation real time technology can lead to, stuff straight out of science fiction.

I think this is a great step towards helping people experience technology that they may not be able to otherwise. With it being very easy to do all the actions.(push the button to stop/play music, swipe left and right to change song) When someone has limited mobility with their fingers, they can use the Pixel Buds to work their phone without using the phone. The Pixel Buds can also cross language barriers, by being linked to Google Translate, they could translate speech in real time.
