Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator

Earlier this year Samsung Electronics released the next generation of their Family Hub refrigerator. This new refrigerator includes a Family Board which is a “communal screen that family members can interact with in a personalized way. Family Hub helps foster true family connection, food management, and a connected home experience in today’s faced-paced modern world” (Samsung Newsroom, 2019).
The Family Hub includes Bixby with AI capabilities. With the use of Bixby, users can “ask for their morning brief while getting breakfast ready” (Samsung Newsroom, 2019). This all appears on the Family Hub screen so they can hear it and see it at the same time. Since every family member is unique, through Bixby voice ID “each family members voice is distinguished, so everyone can get tailored information for their individual needs” (Samsung Newsroom, 2019). The Family Hub can also be used as a digital bulletin board to display notes, photos, or important reminders. Everything necessary for making sure the family runs smoothly is included in the Family Hub.
The Family Hub will be very helpful for any kind of family. There are meal plan options and users will be able to look inside their fridge to see if they need an item while at the grocery store. This technology will make life easier for parents and allow them to focus more on their children rather then what needs to go on the grocery list. For people that have dietary restrictions or allergies the Family Hub Meal Planner can help make their lives easier. With new technologies becoming a part of home life everyday the Family Hub will just add to those and allow families to stay connected even more.
