In September 2019, Rachel Staddon (PhD student) attended the BERA Annual Conference 2019. Rachel presented a paper entitled, “Flipped Learning — Panacea or Problem? Mature Students’ Motivations and Barriers to Technology”, which explored her work on mature learners and their experiences with technology in the qualitative domain. The paper discussed the implications for the design of flipped classrooms, which Rachel is excited to include in her own flipped teaching in the Department for Lifelong Learning. The conference was a positive and engaging experience, with presentations covering a huge range of topics — very inspiring!
