iHuman’s Critical disability studies research was showcased through a number of activities. Dan Goodley gave the Inaugural Gary Albrecht Global Lecture on Disability, at The University of Illinois at Chicago’s Department of Disability and Human Development (DHD) (26th September 2017). This was followed up other events including a public conversation with the internationally renowned disability activist Marca Bristow (President and CEO of Access Living of Metropolitan Chicago). Dan told us:

To be given the opportunity to meet with Gary Albrecht and Marca Bristow was not only a real honour but also an opportunity to engage with academia and activism in Chicago. UIC and Access Living are renowned communities of international repute that have, for many years, been at the vanguard of developments in terms of disability studies and politics. This trip permitted us to connect with some of the key research themes in iHuman and to deepen our relationships.
