Dan Goodley joined a panel of Australian academics at a symposium hosted by REDI at Deakin University on 21st February 2019. Drawing on findings from the ESRC Living life to the fullest project and a new paper written by Dan, Rebecca Lawthom, Kirsty Liddiard and Katherine Runswick Cole (‘Provocations for Critical Disability Studies’ to be published in the journal Disability Studies in Education) a number of questions were asked of critical disability studies researchers including; how inclusive is critical disability studies? what is the purpose of theory? How might we attend to the study of ability and disability? Dan was joined by Dr Tim Corcoran (Deakin University), Professor Roger Slee (Editor in Chief JDSE; University of South Australia), Alfred Deakin Professor Jill Blackmore AM (Deakin University) and Dr Ben Whitburn (Deakin University).
