Radical Pedagogies: A Humanities Teaching Forum
Billed at “the first of its kind in the country,” this learning and teaching forum sought to radically re-address and re-think humanities teaching in higher education. Academics and doctoral students from a range of disciplines came together to critically reflect on current practice and to propose innovative and experimental new approaches to teaching in the 21st century. The full programme can be found here. For Darren Webb, the highlight was the keynote address given by Richard Hall. Hall offered a fascinating Marxist analysis of current HE policy, some poignant reflections on academic alienation and a call to occupy the curriculum and detonate (metaphorically) the university.
