Spend a Day with Me
by Shuyu Wang
Hey guys, welcome to my blog!
I am a MA Education student in TUOS, and for this blog, I am going to share a normal Tuesday with you.
Basically, I wake up at 8:30 in the morning on Tuesdays, due to the lecture in the morning. MA courses is not so busy as I have imagined, but I need to spend lots of time reading materials during spare time.
Today, I made myself a sandwich and a yogurt bowl for breakfast.
Actually, I am used to have brunches everyday at 10am, except when I have lectures in the morning (like today) — — a light breakfast is a must.
Today’s lecture was in the Sir Henry Stephenson Building — — one of my favourite buildings in Sheffield. It is not so new as the Diamond nearby, but the pink entry is so cute, isn’t it?
Module 2 is for elective courses, with a wide range of choices from development psychology to childhood education. The lecture lasted about 2 hours as usual with a 10-minute break in the middle. By the way, today’s lecturer was so enthusiastic that we were all motivated to interact with him! Thanks to his passion, I was able to pay full attention to the contents during morning lectures.
Also, all of the lectures are recorded at the same time and can be find on Blackboard, so there is no need to worry about missing a lecture because of illness.
After the lecture, I went to Marks & Spencer to fill up my fridge as well as the snack corner. I usually cook for myself and this is one of my favourite supermarkets here. (P.s. another one is Waitrose).
(The blue and white cloth bag in the lower left corner is my shopping bag, because I dislike buying plastic bags every time and using it is more eco-friendly.)
Then I returned to my apartment, with a large bag of food and a parcel. It was Black Friday last week, so I bought some necessities at quite cheap prices.
To make preparations for my next essay in module 2, I had been looking for materials and literature for the rest of time in the afternoon, accompanied by a cup of oolong tea.
My personal study tip: I can be more focused on papers in a relatively dim environment with just a desk lamp turned on.
Time for dinner! There are also Asian markets here in Sheffield, so I can find a hometown flavour if I want.
Before going to bed, I had a look at the Blackboard to check what I need to prepare for the next day. Blackboard is my most commonly used study tool in MA courses, since all of learning materials and reading lists are posted here, and it is used by professors to make announcements. Most importantly, the discussion board here can be of great help for us to communicate with all our classmates.
Thank you so much for spending a day with me.
Have a nice dream!
