Travelling During Holidays

Hey guys! A late happy new year to all of you!

Today, I am going to introduce what we can do during the holidays.

If you have a European Schengen visa, you can of course plan your vacation to countries nearby to spend a wonderful holiday.

But since most of us have just arrived here, and there is no time to get a Schengen visa finished before Christmas, traveling within the UK becomes our first choice.

It does not cost much time for us to visit other cities in the UK, as Sheffield is located in the middle area of England.

As for nearby cities like Manchester, York, and Leeds, we can easily have a great one-day tour, without having to carry a suitcase. Though cities here may appear similar at the first glance, each has its characteristics when you take a close look at them.

In Leeds

In York

There is no exaggeration to say that almost all of the cities here have a cathedral and an art gallery, sharing pretty much the same view and selling souvenirs with different words and phrases. However, I will still pay for the bill whenever I run into cute but similar postcards and fridge magnets.

Also, it is interesting to mention that people here are happy to be in someone else’s shot:

(I have not noticed it until I came home sorting out photos)

When it comes to further ones such as London, Edinburgh and Brighton, a short trip with friends can be taken into consideration. Plus, in a bid to save time and money, if there are two destinations on the same train line, I would buy a single ticket to the one further away, and then go to the other on the way back.

Due to a lack of brand stores in Sheffield, we sometimes go to large cities to buy clothes and accessories, and spend a few days enjoying delicacy there. Though online shopping here is convenient, wandering from shop to shop is one of my hobbies.
