Hand Curated Discovery
When you sit down to watch a movie, you either know what you want to watch or you don’t. We built the Discover section for the times you don’t.
When you launch Sofa, Discover is the first thing you see. It houses Coming Soon, Now Playing, and an ever-growing collection of lists that we have hand curated. Here are a few examples:
- James Bond Collection
- Summer of 1982
- Sci-fi Adventures
- Money Money Money
- Movies for Writers
- Man vs Nature
- So Bad It’s Good
- Awesome Villains
To create all of these lists, we built a little internal tool called List Builder. With List Builder, we can make new lists, give them a title and sub copy, then add movies to it. Once a list is created it goes live on your device. Pretty cool stuff.
We are really excited about Discover. We think it’s going to be great for finding movies to watch, new and old.
