The Right Details for Movie Pages
Early versions of Sofa were very basic. The app was a simple list of movies to watch. No movie detail, no discovery. Over time, we realized movie details were needed. The initial reaction was to put as much detail as possible into every view. After thinking it over, we realized that wasn’t the right approach. The details of a movie should help you do two things:
- Figure out what to watch right now
- Discover movies to watch later
We settled on movie synopsis, some meta data, and cast list. This is the core information for every movie.
People Pages
People pages are an excellent companion to a movie page. Say you’ve just finished watching Shaun of the Dead. You’re thinking, “Wow, that was hilarious. What else has Simon Pegg been in?” On the Shaun of the Dead movie page, you can tap on Simon Pegg and see all the movies he has worked on.
People pages are addicting. It’s so much fun to keep diving through and find something new.
We think we’ve nailed down a core set of movie details that work well. It’s great for finding out what to watch right now, and dicover new movies. We can’t wait for you to check it out.
