SOFA.org Integrates Chainlink Automation and Functions To Help Power Its Asset Settlement Framework

We’re excited to announce that SOFA.org— a non-profit DAO dedicated to developing a comprehensive asset settlement framework onchain — has integrated Chainlink Functions and Chainlink Automation, the industry-standard serverless Web3 developer platform and smart contract automation service, on Arbitrum mainnet. Specifically, SOFA.org is leveraging Chainlink Functions to provide smart contracts access to trust-minimized compute infrastructure, allowing us to fetch data from APIs, and Automation to seamlessly trigger smart contracts, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.

SOFA.org is addressing key issues in the DeFi space by focusing on the principles of trustlessness and immutability for its onchain asset settlement platform. By promoting these values, we aim to build a more resilient financial infrastructure. Our initiatives, such as Risk Tokenization, allow for the onchain recording of important financial instrument parameters, ensuring assets can be securely settled onchain. We are also working to create a decentralized clearing foundation that enhances capital liquidity, transparency, and security. Our goal is to build a DeFi ecosystem that is both responsible and stable, grounded in the values of trustless decentralization and designed for long-term growth.

We selected Chainlink Functions because its serverless developer features enable us to connect to and transform data in a highly efficient, reliable, and decentralized manner. Functions not only provides a seamless environment and robust toolkit to build, test, simulate, and run custom JavaScript logic offchain, but it also enables us to easily connect to vast Web2 datasets, any public or private API, and legacy systems. With Chainlink Functions, we can fetch real-time data from APIs and perform custom computations directly within smart contracts, ensuring that the critical financial parameters recorded onchain are accurate and up-to-date.
