Decision Making: Problems Analyze.
The very first step to make a decision is to analyze the choices you have. If I can analyze the choice and understand its nature, I can make the right decision.
Startup Lab blogger said: “The best way to analyze business ideas is to understand your market, customers and the problem you’re solving”.
First of all, I have to ask questions about the choice to define it. What are the core meaning of the choice? How many people will be affected? What is the optimistic and pessimistic impacts can it make? What will I get from this choice or what will I lose from it? Is there any more efficient choice to make?
To evaluate is the second step. Every choice has pros and cons or sometimes it has both affects. If it has two side affects, I will have to consider if the good outcome is worth the bad side affects. For example, I love to have eat fast food but it is unhealthy. The pleasure of eating my comfort food won’t be valued more than my health therefore I choose not to eat Mc Donald’s. In this case, the good outcome (pleasure) is not worth the bad side affects (gain weight, heart disease risks, …).
Thirdly is find out what are the tools to analyze my problems. On medium.com, Startup Lab blogger gives me some useful tools to evaluate my choice such as Google keyword tool, Instapage, Google Analytics and Optimizely. I can use these website to search up about similar problems and way to understand it.
I also believe a good source of information I can consult are my advisors, professors, family and friends. It is the best to learn from others’ successes or failures and conclude them into my own experiences. I can also analyze the problem myself by putting all the decision on a broad or a piece of paper, list the pros and cons then compare them.
I believe I can learn to analyze the problems as the first step to make the right choices.
