“Keep up the team spirit if everything is complicated — an essential task for the manager,” says Stacie Serb, Senior Project Manager. Stacie is an active mentor, contributor, ICAgile trainer, and speaker. She participated in SoftServe Underground safe events and shared her insights with attendees of this event in Dnipro.

Managers look at each other as they approach the work of their teams to preserve their psychological and physical well-being. So how can a team work in such an uncertain environment?

  • How are you? Regular “Team check-up” meeting.
  • Space for memes. Informal chat “One more team” where you can share news, send some jokes and memes, and support each other in a difficult moment.
  • Keep posted. Do not leave customers uninformed — share information with them: where your team members are and how the work process is going.
  • Power of feedback. Get feedback from the client and share it with the team. Don’t forget to say “Thank you” to your team.
  • Vacation. Encourage your teammates to take as many days off as they need to recover and reset a bit.
  • Psychologist. Politely remind your team members during a 1-on-1 call that they can reach out to a corporate psychologist to help them manage their stress. But do not insist — it can only be a personal desire.
