A little roundup of the best dance tracks from Korean acts to soundtrack summer 2014.
Glen Check 글렌체크 are the undisputed kings of Korean dance and electronica, and this fittingly titled Summer remix from the duo of their own tune Pacific is Balearic bliss. Find the original on last year’s Youth! album, which I included in my pick of 2013's best albums for Medium.
Glen Check produced this recent track from k-indie band Bye Bye Badman 바이 바이 배드맨, who’ve ditched the rock to go dance with aplomb. Young Wave is very promising stuff indeed — follow the group on Soundcloud!
JNS is a new artist who came out a few months ago with Gonna B Late, lead track on his Overly Vivid EP. Strongly recommended for those into their minimal house. I dig the video, embedded via Youtube above.
I also recommend the new Point 9 EP from solo act Haihm 하임, , with its standout tracks Glanz and 9.9 being most worthy of attention, the former a perfect example of glitch pop, and the latter a brilliant instrumental. Read more about her on Trickster Trickster.
