The new update will hit the app stores soon. Inside, you will find the new upgraded Reporting system. Blocking users from commenting on your cards is now enabled.
The beauty of Sola’s community is in its diversity. We want Sola to be a safe and positive place, welcoming new members, and empowering everyone to share their lives and stories.
It’s our responsibility to protect each member of the community from any kind of bullying and harassment. That was the reason we added deletion of comments from your cards, and that is the reason for implementing a blocking feature for your cards.
It gives each of you, as an author, the ability to keep your cards informative and not discouraging. And it won’t affect any other part of the app. Everyone will be able to read the cards and comments, and spread them naturally.
The Report feature has been improved. Now you can report not only inappropriate cards and comments, but also users and channels. The new system allows you to include reasons when reporting, which will help the moderation team react faster and will improve the quality of the moderation process.
Product and Marketing
We are finalizing the design of the Topics feature, and now we can tell you a bit more about it.
Topics will allow the quality content we all love to be more noticeable, spread farther, and inspire authors to create interesting and engaging cards.
There will be Basic and User topics. Basic topics are set by Sola; they are part of the Pro content program. First we will add Tech, Crypto, and Science topics. User topics work as simple tags.
Cards with Basic Topic attached to them could get spread boosters. You can influence them with the number of SOL in your Wallet and also with any External traffic you’ve attracted to the card.
Using Basic Topics gives you access to the Pro creators rating — these are our most supported and active creators. The top 20 users in a Topic get badges, which are reassigned each week, to highlight the most relevant content and its creators.
We are continuing to improve the fraud detection system. It is becoming increasingly smart and fast, and we are seeing a significant decrease in fraud attempts.
The development of the Public API is finished, and we are starting to work on comprehensive documentation.
Next month we are participating in D10 — the leading conference on decentralization. At this time, we are actively preparing for it.
We also plan to attend the Blockchain Summit in Frankfurt this April. We are planning a meetup before the conference, so if you’re interested, please, let us know!
