“Solaster is solving one of the most important impediments to transforming healthcare — interoperability. Stuart and the team at Solaster have been working tirelessly to create desperately needed connections between these disparate systems. I am thrilled that Solaster is leading the way to establish a framework allowing for this type of integration,” said Clauson.

Dr. Clauson began investigating the potential for blockchain technology to enhance health supply chain management in 2015, as follow-up to his efforts with WHO. He expanded his exploration of distributed ledger technology into other healthcare arenas after being invited to the White House and connecting to clinicians, technologists and patients focused on precision medicine and clinical trials.

He currently serves on the editorial board of Blockchain in Healthcare Today, as a Fellow with Blockchain in Healthcare Global, and as a subject matter expert for the HIMSS Blockchain Task Force and IEEE Blockchain Clinical Trials. Recently, he received the Blockchain for Education Collaboration Award, recognizing the initiative he lead for Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in partnership with Hashed Health which leveraged Ethereum to allow verification of academic credentials.

“Kevin is by far and away one of the brightest minds both in the healthcare academic setting and blockchain space. He has a very thorough understanding of how distributed ledger technology can help deliver better efficiencies across healthcare. We are very honored to have him on the Solaster team,” said Solaster CEO Stuart Lackey.

His peer-reviewed, published work in journals, books, and other media has generated coverage by the New York Times, Forbes.com, Wall Street Journal, and BBC Radio.

Dr. Clauson was awarded his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee — Memphis and completed a Research Fellowship at the University of Missouri — Kansas City.
