Video creators, our time is precious —so I’ll keep it short.

Most Creators aren’t aware of the revenue potential on social platforms.

And I’ve made it my mission to share the tools available.

Remember the article on funding your video production?

In line with this, this is part 2.

Affiliate Programs

In addition to TikTok creator fund, here are three more ways to cash in.

Affiliate programs earn you an extra $$ on sales from featured products.

Amazon Associates is the most popular, but limited. And I like options.

If that’s your case too, I recommend using Sovrn or Impact. The registration process is quick and many brands are available (eg: Etsy, Adidas, Ticketmaster, etc…)

As a writer who doesn’t publish often, I get a few bucks here and there with Sovrn. Example

Brand collaboration

The most elaborate — and my favourite — monetisation setup.

Brands pay you to feature products in your video (or editorial). You can either wait for brands to approach you or directly pitch your ideas to them.

The goal? Your content acts as a promotional tool for the brand.

NB: Creators, negotiate wisely. It is common to charge $10 per 1,000 followers. Don’t forget to include your video production costs in the price.

Sell your magic

Whether it’s acrylic painting, furniture restoration, or vertical farming, use your content to sell your products or services.

Most creators use Linktr.ee to drive followers to selling platforms when they don’t have an e-commerce.

This Instagram reel is the perfect example showing how to create four income streams.

How To Diversify Your Incomes As A Writer?

It works similarly for a writer.

If your audience is big enough:

Approach brands you want to write about to get paid based on the exposure you give. Use your dashboard stats to back up the figure.

+

Negotiate commission made on sales driven from your article, usually between 7–15%. Don’t forget to track everything.

+

Use affiliate tools to earn extra cash from the purchases you drive to brands.

+

Feature your services to drive new clients.

Take care.

Note: There are affiliate links in the article. If you buy something, I’ll get a commission at no extra cost to you. This content is free, and by using these links, you’ll be supporting the work to sustain the article production.
