If you’re new to this series, I’m a pastor countering aspects of fascism with Christian theological critique.

The feature we’ll look at in this post is contempt for the weak. Fascist leaders ooze scorn for those they consider frail, powerless, and unable to contribute to the leader’s commanding facade. It ties in with their need to uphold a patriarchal machismo image — they perceive themselves as “fathers” of a people or a nation, as strongmen unafraid to fight and stare down their (many perceived) enemies.
