Fibromyalgia (FM) is one of the most common chronic pain conditions affecting 3–6% of the world’s population. The disorder is characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory, and mood issues. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way the brain processes pain signals.
