A 2011 study estimated that India has roughly 20 health workers per 10,000 population. This workforce, however, is not distributed optimally. Fifty-eight percent of qualified doctors are located in urban areas. In rural areas, the number of health workers is as low as 18.8%. Yet, 70% of the population lives in rural areas. These figures show that most providers prefer to work in areas where infrastructure and facilities for family life and growth are higher.

Because of this mismatch and a lack of good infrastructure, proper management, and qualified staff, a great portion of the population doesn’t have access to quality healthcare. With over one billion citizens, India needs solutions which can connect providers, hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, insurers, and all healthcare parties in one place.

Using the Solve.Care Platform, it’s possible to build networks for better patient management. Sharing medical information between providers can be done quickly and securely through Care.Wallet. Our transportation solution can help patients get to their appointments, regardless of where they’re located, making the process simpler and easier for all. And Care.Wallet can even be used to simply physician credentialing, helping to ensure doctors have the right qualifications and are in the locations where they’re most needed.

Implementing these solutions, and others like them, will help create a health system that’s more accessible and efficient for people wherever they may live.
