Welcome back to the SolydRecap. We took our time to reflect and invest in our project and with this recap we are restarting the monthly tradition. We hope you and your families stayed healthy and patient as we are slowly moving back to normality in some countries of Europe.
The topics
In this recap, we will talk about only two topics, which is the current development and the future of our software. To keep it unconventional, we will start with the future of our software firstly and then talk about what’s going on behind the scenes.
The future
To talk about the future, which we are looking forward to, we have to count in the past and present of the project. When we had our run last year, we had great potential to become a dominant competitor on several EU sites. However, the biggest mistake we made was focussing on our main sites instead of already working on our next targets, the next goals to finish the development of different and new sites we had in mind. Coincidentally, this past also shines through our present as the development of the main sites caused so many new challenges and problems, at the point where we are overworking and overcomplicating things. It led to the current problems of our DW-modules and the slow progress of our project. More about this in the next topic. This definitely had to change and the whole team agreed on it.
Now let‘s approach the future as we‘re taking our internal structure and organizing to a different level. The main goal remains the same, success for our users. The path to this goal takes a new direction as we will expand the width of focus.
Current development
We‘re putting extreme efforts to increase users success not only vertically but also horizontally by the expansion of our sitelist. This is to be continued as we rather want the success to speak first before anything else and we won‘t disclose big changes such as site additions until we‘re really satisfied with the results.
Our slow progress of updates and user success is due to the main issue which followed us all the way to today. The focus was too densely chosen to lay on the main sites and we are actively shifting it. DW-modules are still focussed on but we don‘t want to let three very dynamic sites to manage be the reason for less success. With the current efforts we are putting in day in and day out at the moment, especially behind the scenes, we are certain to come back strong. We‘ve also introduced early access to certain additions and changes we are working on before pushing it to every user. This is to prevent major flaws and issues before pushing them to the main version.
To end this recap, we want to say thank you to all our users, we know the best that our performance is not where it should be and we are working every day without exceptions, to come back like you want us to. We will stay transparent to our users and communicate issues continuously. Our team is doing the best and we are taking a different approach on certain decisions to accelerate the process of getting our users success back to the standards we expect.
